About the Project

The project focuses on health issues such as malnutrition, anemia, menstrual hygiene, tuberculosis, substance Abuse, cervical and breast Cancer, and few other related issues among adolescent girls (10-19 years) and women of reproductive age (15-49 years). The sequential approach of awareness, screening, referral, and follow-ups is used to deliver services to the beneficiaries under the project.

Education : Bachelor of Social Work, or Master of Social Work BSW / MSW 

Experience : Experience of 1-2 years in the development sector including demonstrated ability in mentoring, mobilizing, data collection, counseling and reporting

Salary : In hand  11,500/- Per Month

Location : Vapi – Block, Valsad – Gujarat (Preference: Local candidates from nearby locations.)

The specific objectives 

To improve community’s knowledge and health seeking behaviour on various health issues such as nutrition, prevalent health issues such as anaemia, RTI/STI, Substance Misuse, Tuberculosis, life style diseases (Hypertension, Diabetes)

To improve conducive environment with respect to prioritizing health and wellness

To improve access to health care services by developing a referral system for identified beneficiaries

The project will achieve the project objectives by focusing on:

1. Awareness generation at the community level through street plays, wall painting other engaging activities

2. Screening (Questionnaire based) and follow-ups of identified beneficiaries will be done

3. Regular one-to-one meetings with frontline workers, VHSNC and PRI members to ensure participation of frontline workers, VHSNC and PRI members in project activities 

4. Issue-based counseling sessions/ group sessions/one-to-one sessions on thematic areas with primary beneficiaries 

5. Observation of special days (World Youth Day, Menstrual Hygiene Day, World No Tobacco Day, World AIDS Day, Cancer Day, Breast Cancer Awareness month, Cervix Cancer Awareness month, World TB Day, World Hypertension Day, World Diabetes Day)

6. Document learning-Case Studies and Success Stories

7. Documentation and disseminate the key findings from the intervention

Purpose of the position

The Community Mobilizer will be responsible for rolling out implementation of Project at the village level.

Responsibilities

1. Identify and Liaise with village level stakeholders and frontline workers to strengthen project related activities. Maintain professional relationships with them for smooth functioning of the project activities at the field level.

2.          Household visit for establishing beneficiary data base (follow up and screening), one to one meeting with identified target beneficiary for awareness, linkages, conducting awareness activities, maintaining records of activities conducted, coordinating between service providers (ANM/ ASHA/ AWW) and beneficiaries for better service uptake.

3. Implementation of day to day project activities at grassroots level.

4. Maintenance of data and related records, daily reporting to block supervisor

5. Mobilize community for the project activities.

6. Responsible for community linkages with the available welfare schemes on health, and other related services.

7. Conduct need-based awareness campaigns to increase the demand of various services.

8. Perform for any other additional work/duty assigned by the block supervisor.
